State Farm Auto Insurance Refuses to Stop Emails

For multiple weeks now, i have been rec eiving unsolicited emails from State Farm Auto Insurance or their subcontractors. I have erpeatdly tried to "unsubscribe," but after saying I have been "successful" and they will stop after 10 days, I continue to get State Farm Auto Insurance junk emails using what appears to be an endless supply of fake email address or temporary email addresses they are using. It does no good to block a particular email address from my email account bewcause they merely substitute another. I made an email complaint to State Farm Corporate and provided them with a number of the email addresses they are using to harass me and heard back from a Zone Manager called Christy Chappell who said she would help. Well, nothing has changed and I have threatened to file formal complainst and seekdmages from the New York Atty. Generals' Office and the Federal Trade Commission. Ms. Chappell emailed me and complained about my threat and said it could tke up to 6 WEEKS to stop emails and delte me from State Farms and / or their subcontractors data base! I told her that the phoney "unsubscribe" option said no more than 10 days. I am now wondering if a class action suit should be pursued....

Nothing

I use to have State Farm Insurance years ago, and I truly liked the company as I still do. When I became a teacher, I found cheaper insurance. I would like to state that I cannot stand your commercials with the man and really it doesn't have a thing to do with helping consumers purchase your insurance. It truly turns me off to your insurance, as I think it would to other consumers. It is negative and derogative with the way it is presented. I turn it off everytime I see the man. I know what is going to happen. Thanks

Actually, you have State Farm confused with Allstate.

You do know that "Mister State Farm" does not sponsor this site, right?

I mean you are an educator, so it would make me concerned that ,as an educator, you think that a site called "pissedconsumer.com" isn't really State Farm.com, right?

But thank you for cementing my views on the failed education system of the U.S.

Did not pay ins claim state farm

It was a stormy night and my husbands car was tboned he went straight through a steel fence and luckily was minorly hurt. We called our insurance to see what steps to take the police took report and found my husband not at fault. We had to have the car towed and had to purchase a rental car now our insurance progressive assisted but state farm denied our claim it was resubmitted on several occasions but with no success . We were out 250. for the car being towed and stored at the location they towed it too. And we had to pay for all of our damages through our own ins company State Farm is a rip off .

State Farm Insurance Claim

State Farm Reps. Are Lazy.

My car and 3 others went through a hail storm. All were covered with State Farm. 2 of the vechiles over 5,000 in damage my car, 2,000. My car had dings everywhere and theres had just a few dings. Called my "representative" to tell him I was unhappy about the adjustment and was going to have an estimate done and bring it in. Todd Otto decided that even though he is suppose to represent me, I was on my own to fight with the corporate office on the extra damages to my car. I got a quote that was $1,300 dollars higher. They decided that my quote wasn't from a reputable place and would have to take it one of there one of their auto shop repairs to have an adjustment done. I don't understand why I pay to have a representative that sits on his *** while I have to do all the work.

Sorry for your loss, this is a normal procedure for any insurance company when you do not agree with the estimate of repair they provide you. You have to do the footwork to get comparable quotes from other shops and some shops will cost more than others to do the same repairs.

You do have the right to choose the shop of your choice, either way as long as you get your car fixed that is really the most important detail of your claim.

Unless you just want more money so that you get to keep some of it then its not fair to bad mouth a company just because you don't get to keep any of the money or there is none left for you to put into your pocket. That's not what insurance is for...

as soon as you get the car repaired, it's time to switch to another insurance company.

State Farm is siding with the other insured.

I am a State Farm customer and was hit by a State Farm customer when she backed out of a parking space and slammed into the right side of my car. All the damage to my car is from the right front wheel back. There is no damage to the front or front wrap-around turn signal or bumper. She is claiming that she had backed out and was about to drive forward when I hit her car. State Farm will not inspect the damage and is siding with her version and a hand drawing of the parking lot. Since we're both State Farm, they want me to accept a no-fault settlement. I would have to pay my deductable plus car rental for 8-10 days while being repaired. The repair is estimated at $2800.00. Everything I own is insured with them and I have been a loyal customer since 1963! So much for loyalty. After this is settled, I am going shopping for insurance!!

just curious... where were the damages on the other vehicle??

usually if both vehicle backed out at the same time, it is a not fault which sucks, but if you have witnesses that saw what actually happened and they can state that the other car was at fault then that helps. otherwise.. you have this outcome.. sorry for your loss..

Liars

I purchased a auto/renters policy with State Farm back in 09. The guy we purchased the policy from seemed like a legit person and was being completely honest with us. The auto policy has been great, up till now I never had use for the renters but I have paid into it for all these years. We were told when we purchased the policy should there be a chance the car gets broken in to anything in the car that is stolen would be covered in the renters policy. Well this month our car was broken into and our personal property was stolen. I reported the loss to State Farm and they say to me the items are not covered in the policy. Well that's not what they said initially when the policy was purchased. They have no problem taking the money but are not willing to pay out when it comes time to do so.

The reason they are not paying is because they said CD's are not covered in a policy. Which I find to be misleading.

I was specifically told that everything in my car would be covered regardless. javascript:ac_smilie(':(')

#416058

Sorry for your loss. Yes your renters policy should cover your personal property stolen off of your vehicle.

Maybe the reason they are not paying it has to do with your deductible being more than the loss sustained.

That is the only reason I can think of for them not paying the claim. Please always make sure you know what your deductibles are and how much coverage you are paying for cause then you are end up with unpleasant surprises such as these.

#377365

What I was told is the items in the car that were taken were not covered, but had they been in the house and taken it would have been a complete different story. The fact of the matter is whether they were in my house or car if I have the insurance they should be covered.

And that's where I feel that I was lied to.

I was told it doesn't matter what the item is if it's stolen from your vehicle it will be covered. And now they say when I need it covered they won't do it.javascript:ac_smilie(':(') javascript:ac_smilie(':(') :( :(

What state are you in? As an insurance agent in Texas, I can only tell you how this work in Texas since Insurance rules and regs vary state to state.

Auto insurance covers the auto, renters is for your personal belongings-books, clothes, etc. with limitations for money, jewelry, etc. What I would do is contact State Farm claims office-look at your paperwork, there should be a 1-800 number) and file a claim.

If they tell you it is not covered, tell them you want an adjuster to tell you that. That way if they deny it, they have to send you a letter telling you why it was denied.

#358962

Comprehensive coverage will cover the stolen vehicle or damages made. Your personal property is never covered under Car insurance it is covered under renters or homeowners.

#358539

your renter's policy absolutely should cover your personal property in your vehicle, contact somebody else in the office!

#355567

I have all the insurance policies I needed for a claim like this. They are just refusing to pay the claim.

#352841

This is what say all the time: Read, Read, Read that contract! Don't believe the *** at the counter, they'll do and say anything to make the sale!

The contract is what they will hold you to.

So read it and understand! Keep the contract with you as well, you never know when you must read it again to clarify!

#352835

It is my understanding that you need to have comprehensive added to your auto policy in order to claim break-in losses, not from your homeowners policy. Perhaps you misunderstood.

Could not help me.

I got a quote for my girlfriend to be on my ins., not to add her just a quote and they added her anyway. My ins went up and I got a letter about it. I called the next day to get it straightened out and they fixed it as they said. They told me that I would not be charged the extra amount. Which I was charged anyway. (Lie #1). After I got charged that my account was over drawn. I went into the office and they told me it takes 2 weeks. It's been 3. Told me it would take about a month to get my money back. I hate State Farm. They lie and just do what they want and they don't fix anything. It takes them to long to fix there mistakes. I will never do business with them again and I will tell all my friends and family not to do business with them ever. It takes over a month to fix something they did wrong and I get penalized for it. Thanks what a great company to do business with.

Don't call just send nasty cancellation letter

This week they sent me a cancellation note because a payment wasn't recieved. Been with them for 21 years - I currently have 4 cars covered, house, wifes jewelry, personal liability insurance, earth quake, long term diasbility - forgot to send a check - do they call to ask if I am dropping them - no they send a letter telling me my policy is cancelled. My first thought was to look around for an alternative which is exactly what I am doing. My agent said - Oh they send that from corporate - what does he do to earn my money? State Farm spend a lot of money on the TV telling us what great support they give their clients - they should spend a bit of that money actually giving great support.

State Farm Scam Artists

Daughter is hit by State Farm insured who crossed the lane in front of her. Speed about 5 mph--daughter driving a Honda Accord, State Farm insured driving an Econoline van. No damage to van, slight damage to Accord. State Farm insured leaves the scene before police arrive because there is no damage and she is in a hurry. Calls daughter months later asking for $1800 cash. Claims her back window is shattered, her bumper has to be replaced and she has a bad ankle. Daughter advises to file an insurance claim. Result: State Farm mysteriously lost the photos they took of the Accord with little damage, and we had to pay State Farm $14,000 for medical payments and vehicle damage. Abitrator sided with State Farm who say my daughter smashed into her car going 35 mph, though we did have a witness. Unfortunately, we couldn't fight their high powered attorneys. Had to pay $200 a month until paid off. Note to self: If you are hit by a State Farm insured, take your own photos and have the police there!
