Sneaky deductable increase on homeowners policy

While trying to file a homeowners claim in October (due to a theft), we discovered that our policy's deductable has doubled the month before. Our agent "played dumb" when I asked why it increased, and it wasn't until I called again, that he told me that everyones policy deductable had doubled and it was noted on my renewal the month before. (No other notification, just a note on the policy.)

Some agents attempted to contact their clients atleast 3 times...not my agent! He states that he called and left a message, but not so...I have an answering maching and caller ID... no call. Then I found out the day they supposadly called - funny thing, I was home, off work the entire day, because I had surgery the day before. Like I said, there was NO call.

Besides all that, in the same week surrounding the day they supposedly called, I have records of contact with them on 3 different occasions, because we were taking out another policy for liability insurance. Not once did they ever mention anything abouth the homeowners deductable.

After talking to several "higher ups" at State Farm, I got nowhere. Guess they are in their legal rights by just putting 2 lines on your policy. Shame on me for not looking it over, but I never imagined they could change that without approval.

So much for being with State Farm for over 20 years.... when they decide to sneakly change something and there is no mandate on how agents notify clients, this is just poor business practice...but I'm sure losing one customer that gives them over $7000 a year is no big deal to them.

If anyone knows of anyway to go further with this, let me know.

State Farm lowered out deductible without notifying us too. TERRIBLE!

Guest

In Oregon, your insurance broker or agent is required by law to notify you when coverage changes in your policy. I'm saying this because I owned a trucking company for over 25 years and we transported lots of glass, as that was our main line of business.

Our agent changed cargo insurance companies, because it was such a great deal for us and continued to send out insurance certificates to various glass companies. One fall, a drunk elk hunter forced our driver off of the road on Hwy 58, along with another vehicle, driven by the Assistant District Attorney for Klamath County, who was not too pleased. Our new cargo insurance company dropped in my office a week later and showed me in the policy, that glass was exempt from coverage. When I took the matter up with our agent, they admitted it was their fault and were legally bound to inform us of the change in policy.

This was confirmed by the Oregon State Insurance Commissioner's office. The #30,000.00 insurance claim was quickly paid by the insurance agent's "Errors and Omissions Policy". I'm currently involved in a water damage claim with State Farm, who just informed me that they raised my deductible from $500.00 in 2011, to 1/2 of 1 percent, or $1,725.00, but never informed me. Their estimate is $1,775.00!!!

My wife and I have been with State Farm since 1976 and they cover everything. At least this week they do...

Guest

While trying to collect on a claim from water damage in our basement we learned that State Farm changed our deductible from $2500 to one half of 1% of the value of our personal property inside our house. They claim that personal property is worth $1.5 million and our deductible is $7980.

I told them if our personal property was worth $1.5 million that I would have a garage sale tomorrow. State Farm is completely unethical and use deceptive business practices.

I ,too ,was taken by surprise this year! A large pine tree fell on my home during a storm and broke into my roof and back bedrooms.

I had an estimate between 18,000-25,000 for repairing the damage, needing a crane to remove the tree and so on.

When I found out my deductible of $100 was raised to $5000 this year, I was floored. I have been a loyal customer for decades. I will never recommend state farm and I will be canceling once I get through this nightmare.

I received $5200 to get my home repaired....I mean really??? That took care of the crane, tree and plaster for my ceiling...now where do I go to get the rest to close the large gaping hole in my roof and shingles?

One hundred dollar deductibles are unheard of anymore. The price for your insurance would have been outrageously expensive to carry a deductible that low.

By having a reasonable deductible like $2,500 or $5,000, you've saved thousands of dollars in premiums.

That annual savings is the money you use to fix your roof.

I'm having the same problem with State Farm right now!! They tripled my deducdeble and I called my them on it and they stated they sent me a letter?

Well I want a copy of my original policy I purchased 16 yrs ago with my signature on it!!

It's also a contract, I should of received a new policy with the new deducteble on it so I could sign it or go to a different insurance company! Talk to an attorney.

Your original policy means absolutely nothing. Each and every time a policy comes up for renewal, the company decides whether to offer you a renewal or not.

When they send you a renewal offer, it includes all of the endorsements and alterations along with the declarations documentation. That is your notification of changes.

They do not need your signature for acceptance. The law states that when you pay the premium that was offered with the renewal notice, you have accepted the NEW policy.

Every renewal notice you receive voids the prior contract and renews another contract. This is why agents constantly beg customers to READ their notices, their policies, their endorsements and meet with their agents do discuss and make any adjustments.

Guest

Can't say my agent ever "begged" me to read anything. It's so underhanded to renew a policy without making sure the customer is aware of such changes.

Like a Good Neighbor?????.....NOT

In July of 2011 we have a severe hail storm pass through our neigboorhood, documented on a site that State Farm even uses, damage was admitted to vents and skylight flashings and a couple other roof items, however the adjuster told me that God spared my shingles. The hail did hit every other house in my neighboorhood, one roofer alone pulled 39 permits for roofs in an immediate area of 1/2mile around our house. They have denied any hail damage to shingles claiming it is faulty shingles. To make matters worse they have paid for the house 2 doors to the south of me and another house 3 doors to the northwest of me TOTAL ROOF REPLACEMENT--I have the one neighbors bill--says hail damage.12 or so immediate neighbors have had their roofs replaced at full insurance cost, and they have signed a form stating such, the others have all used same roofer, I don't feel the need to ask everyone, it is obvious. Regardless of what my shingles were they insured us at full replacement cost and are now making us jump through hoops to prove them wrong. We have had State Farm for 35+ years without a catastrophic claim.Where is the good neighbor part? USA today did a story on 10-31-2012, after Hurricane Sandy about how well prepared as a result of huge surplus in insurance fund companies are prepared to handle claims, is a result of denying ones they should pay?

And when I called to complain they stated cause he lives in my house that they have to get cancel me. I am the only one driving for the past 3 years and have had no problem with that with any other company.

This is not my fault, was something that happened before we were married yet I am being faulted for it. This is *** UP!

What your parents signed was called a driver exclusion endorsement. Depending on the state you're in, that is allowed for children or other household members such as grandparents or siblings, but in many states, it is not allowed for spouses.

Just as I explained before, spouses are considered "as one" basically, a husband and wife cannot exclude each other when you're married. As for the answer to "What happened to customer right?"...the insurance company is the one on the line for the damage that may be done. They have decided that there is not a premium they can charge that can justify the risk they would be taking on and have made the choice to resign from the risk.

Insurance is not a something you walk up to the cash register and purchase. It's applied for and must be approved by the company taking on the risk.

I had contacted a Lawyer to see that they had to say about it, and they said since it happened 5 years ago, i should not be faulted for it, and what they did was wrong. State farm is refunding me all of my money, and the rep I finally got ahold of gave me a number to the Att.

General of my state to change it, cause she said it was BS to. Also I had contacted a different S.F rep and they told me that I can take him off my policy, but my rep had to do it, and she refused to.

Insurance Basics

Only because the Insurance companies have our premiums to get the best 'justice' money can buy!

Do wonder if Petze87 has filed a complaint with the department that regulates insurance companies doing business in Pennsylvania?

Remember when I got my drivers license, my parents were told their insurance would go up like 3 times higher. They signed something that made it so if I was driving their car it had NO Insurance. What happened to customer right?

Guest

When you married your husband, you married his driving record and his credit report. Period.

Most preferred companies cannot and will not exclude a spouse as a risk since you are considered "as one". You'll be suffering for his record just as long as he does.

State Farm will take your money but God help you if you have a claim!!

I have been a State Farm customer since 1997 with absolutely zero claims. In 2010, I got into a 3 car accident. A mustang sped out at a stop light and lost traction coming back into oncoming traffic and hitting the car in front of me which I also hit. State Farm DENIED my claim because I was the third car. They explained to me that the middle driver (approximately 80+ years old) would have been able to avoid the accident if not for me. However, if you look at the police report (who were on the scene) they clearly list the only person as careless driving as driver #1 (the mustang). The lady that handled my claim was the most unprofessional and rude individual I've ever had to deal with in my life. THELMA RICKEY will not return your phone call and will treat you like your a criminal....not a 15+ year customer trying to file their first claim. I'm still paying higher insurance rates b/c of this and recently again called State Farm (whom I am clearly no longer insured with) to try to get the accident reviewed as it is listed as an at fault accident for me. The first lady I spoke with looked up my info and said she would have to send it along to THELMA RICKEY to get an answer. I knew I was screwed at that point. Again, she didn't return my phone call and in typical state farm fashion, got a letter stating that it was an at fault accident. I am a 31 year old driver with no moving violations and one accident now on my record and will never again be using State Farm. They have the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE IN THE WORLD. If you get a call from THELMA RICKEY that she is processing your claim first praise Jesus that she took the time out of her busy schedule to call you but at the same time know that your screwed. Our National goverment really needs to look at these scandelous business practices! PS - after raising *** and speaking to a manager, I received a check to fix my truck from state farm but they still have it listed as an at fault accident causing me to pay ~2x the rates I was paying before.

If I am visualizing your claim correctly, Car 1 was out of control and hit car two (which was in front of you). You are car 3 and hit the vehicle in front of you (middle car).

I'm going to offer you some very basic information concerning accidents and the way they are investigated and reviewed by insurance companies. I hope this information helps you understand the reason for the outcome of your claim.

First: Police reports are only ONE tool in the investigation process. They are by no means the end all or be all concerning the claim. Basically, unless the police officer was an eye witness to the accident, it is just the police officer's version of the scene based on placement of vehicles and statements of those on the scene. Please keep in mind many police officers are not trained scene investigators and some have had only minimal instruction on how to write a report. I can't even count the number of incorrect and error filled reports I have reviewed.

Second: Insurance adjusters spend years in training for scene investigation. They receive their training from multiple venues. They spend every day handling numerous claims and State Farm Insurance companies pays more property and casualty claims than any other insurance company in the world. You can only imagine the amount of data they have on file.

Third: The citations that are issued by a police officer are the police officers opinion only and many are thrown out in court once they are challenged. Many times police officers don't issue a citation when one was needed. That said, I'm not saying you should have been issued a citation, but if the accident happened as you described it, it sounds like you could have been issued a citation for following too closely.

Fourth: Did you file a claim against car #1's driver? If so, what was the result of their investigation? If you didn't, why not?

Fifth: The standard coverages under your policy would include collision coverage. Collision is defined by hitting an object, other than an animal. That would be the ONLY coverage available to take care of your claim. Collision coverage is ALWAYS considered at-fault, unless you hit an animal and then, comprehensive coverage would apply. This is the case with EVERY INSURANCE COMPANY IN AMERICA. State Farm applied collision coverage toward your claim. Period. You paid your deductible and your claim was covered. It will count against you for 3 years. There's absolutely no way around it and there was absolutely no other choice. I'm just not sure what other coverage you would expect the company to cover you under. You hit an object (which happened to be another car). The insurance company had to pay to repair the car you hit under liability and your car repairs would have been made under collision (if you carry collision). What other conclusion would you expect? Insurance companies can't just pay out a claim like this one without applying collision coverage.

For the most part I do like your comment. It is very thorough and informative, however, when an insurance company pays out of collision coverage it is not always considered at fault.

If someone hits your vehicle and you are not at fault but you feel more comfortable going thorugh your own insurance you can.

The insurance company would consider the insured not at fault and then we would subrogate against the at fault party. It wouldn't show up as at fault in your records, but rather a claim was filed and paid.

Guest
reply icon Replying to comment of Guest-597848

nkemp15, you are correct in the fact that once the claim is subrogated against and all costs are recovered, the collision claim will not show up as "at fault". However, if the subrogation does not occur or fails to provide recovery of lost funds, the claim will always continue to be "at fault" on your record.

The problem is many insurance companies do not feel that every subrogation claim is worthy of their cost to recover.

Many do not subrogate once they investigate and find that the at fault party has no funds or has very limited coverage, if any. Unfortunately, I have seen this play out several times.

State Farm is by far the worst when it comes to windshield replacement

Guest

state farm always covers my windows and comprehensive damage never had any problems with the claims.

Guest

nothing else to expect from STATE FARM

Guest

Not quite sure why you feel your agent needed to look at your windshield. Agents don't determine the value of your claim nor do they make claim decisions.

There was absolutely no reason for an agent to see your vehicle for you to make a claim. Very simple situation here. If you had a rock hit your windshield, it is covered under comprehensive coverage. Do you carry comprehensive coverage?

If not, there's nothing the insurance company can do for you. The repair or replacement comes out of your pocket. If you do carry comprehensive coverage, what is your deductible? If the cost to repair or replace the windshield falls below your deductible, then the costs come out of your pocket.

If the damage exceeds your deductible, you state you would like to file a glass claim. The company connects you with a glass company. The glass company comes to you (at work or home) and repairs or replaces your windshield. It's a very, very simple type of claim and could have been fully handled with one phone call (if the damage exceeds your deductible).

Your agent does not determine the amount of the claim. That's between you and the folks repairing/replacing your windshield.

Have you gotten any estimates from glass companies? If not, that's the first thing you need to do.

I have read up on this very subject and it seems that we all are now paying for past claims and future losses the company may have to pay. It seems that once you get into the safe driver, older car category you are just paying for everyone else.

So, my 61 year old husband who drives a 2009 Chev.

HHR with 4 cyls. is paying for losses paid due to hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, fires, and land slides around the country!

Drunk Driver

On New Years I was at my friends house and parked on the side of the road bc I kept getting stuck. Well, at 2a.m. a drunk driver crashed into my car. But he claims someone stole it. He's insured by statefarm and they said they aren't responsible for stolen cars. The kid who was responsible already has his car fixed and back. Statefarm is a joke. This is just ridiculous. I'm stuck without a vehicle for doing absolutely nothing wrong and he's out doing his thing simply bc he lied. I've never heard of this before its just ridiculous.

I'm sorry to hear your vehicle was struck. Unfortunately, you're taking out your anger on the wrong group.

There is not an insurance company in the world that will cover liability that extends from a stolen vehicle. For there to be coverage, the person driving must have given permission to the driver.

That's how all automobile insurance policies work. You're only recourse is to take the driver to small claims court.

Enough is enough

I just got off of the phone with a SF secretary. I was trying to resolve a possible double insurance payment made by fault of State Farm. I told her that what she was telling me sounds like a bunch of finger pointing and I am tired of the problems I have recently experienced with State Farm and am considering a new insurance company. Her response "OK". I have been with some of the greatest State Farm reps since 1988. I have never experienced issues like this before. Her cold response to my frustration is confirmation enough for me. The wholesome service that I once had is obviously no longer available. State Farm will welcome you, wrap their arm around you and shake your hand like a pal, then once something goes astray nobody knows nothing. Everything is done out of a different office, they know nothing about anything. I need an agent who will always be there, be informative, and a staff of supportive people. NOT STATE FARM.

I would not take State Farm insurance if it was free

State Farm insured did a hit and run on my car. I found driver and she confessed. State Farm agreed to repair damages and rental. Now playing games with diminished value, have not agreed to reimburse for mileage to obtain repair quotes. Alao I am not happy with how my car looks and they do not seem to care. It also appears they do not care if their insured gets taken to court for leaving scene of accident and hit and run. I am going to sue for compensatory and punitive damages. Everyone who thinks of this company should check out JD Powers & Associates ratings on them. There are way better choices.....

My agent is not doing anything

On January 10, 2013 I was rear ended while I was at a stand still. My car is driveable, but of course, no back lights. I called my agent Hemi out of Bay Springs, She told me that I had to contact the other parties Insurance Company which is UAIC, to file a claim. Can you believe that.I eventually, had to file a claim with my insurance company (StateFarm). As of february 24,2013 I still don't have a car to drive, nor am I in a rental car, can anyone see my pain? no one is trying to take care of my situation, I have gotten screwed from both insurance companies. I think maybe I need a lawyer.

I haven't replied lately, because what's the use. All I'm going to get is the policy and procedures of a legalized stickup artist.

Guest

Yes, I can believe that your State Farm agent would not contact the at fault party's insurance company on your behalf. It would be inappropriate for them to do so and the other insurance company would have no obligation to follow up on their "hearsay" claim.

If the other party doesn't have insurance, then your claim is against the State Farm policy and your agent can certainly help with that.

Auto insurance is almost always ACV - Actual Cash Value which means that the value of your car is depreciated. You will rarely be able to replace your vehicle with what you get after an accident in a total loss situation. Also, companies can declare your vehicle a total loss when the cost of repair is 75% of the value.

Some companies offer full replacement cost or increased replacement cost. Talk to an independent agent to find out who.

Bryan Lhp

obviously, Insurance Basic, you work for an insurance agency, therefore you have never been where I am now. I have paid enough premiums that if my car is rear end is damaged, my insurance should pay for it.

Just because a insurance don't want to pay because it will be cheaper for them to pay off a older model than get it fixed. My car was a 2002, I had no car notes, the car has been kept up on maintenance, so it ran good, so now the insurance company want to pay me off by totaling my car because of my cars rear end is damaged in an accident that was not my fault, so that put me in debt having to take whatever the insurance company offer me, to have to put down on another car.

BAM a car note!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why am I being penalized :sigh

Guest
reply icon Replying to comment of Bryan Lhp

motorcity54, Yes, I am an insurance professional. Not sure why that causes you to believe I have never been where you are now.

I wasn't always an insurance professional. I had to study, train, work and learn how insurance works the way it does.

Again, you are not alone. Every single person in America that carries car insurance is carrying a policy that pays for the current value of the vehicle being insured. It does not pay to replace your vehicle, it pays for the value of your vehicle.

If the cost to repair it outweighs the value, you're given the value. You're not being penalized. You're being paid exactly what you paid the insurance company to do. Read your policy contract.

It's very clear. The next policy you purchase will have a clause in it that reads exactly the same way, regardless of who you buy it from.

Guest
reply icon Replying to comment of Guest-617110

What is bad is that it pays the value of your car, but you're paying the same premium as the value of your car goes down. Actually, your premium elevates as time goes on whether there are no tickets or accidents as well. Same premium as a new car, even if it is 10 yrs old or older.

Guest
reply icon Replying to comment of Guest-618088

Confused: You're confused because you don't understand that insurance is not just paying for the value of your vehicle. Many more vehicles are damaged and repaired without having to be declared a total loss.

Paying for a repair has gone UP over the years and it will never go down. The cost of labor has risen as well as the cost for parts and paint. Keep in mind, insurance is also paying for medical costs of victims. Do you think that has decreased?

Not sure why so many people believe that just because their vehicle has decreased in value, their insurance should. Really, the value of the vehicle has little to do with the cost of insurance.

Guest

Very sorry about your accident. I'm responding to your post because you're not alone in your assumption your insurance company is to take care of you in an accident.

Here's the truth and the way ALL insurance commpanies work. When you're involved in an accident and are NOT AT FAULT, you have two choices. First, you can contact the at fault driver's insurance company, report your claim and hope they're fully insured with good limits of coverage and make you a fair and reasonable offer. Second, you can report the accident to your insurer.

Your insurer only has one option and that's to cover your loss under your collision coverage, less your deductible. Your company will then subrogate against the at-fault party's insurance company and HOPEFULLY, they will recover your deductible and their costs. NO GUARANTEES HERE. You may NEVER recover your deductible.

Now, as for your insurance agent contacting the at-fault driver's company, not going to happen. No insurance company wants to talk to anyone, but the driver in the accident and any witnesses. They will not be dealing with your insurance company, they will be dealing with the claimant, which is you. Your agent has nothing to do with this because your insurance company has nothing to do with this.

It's between you and the at-fault party's carrier. The ONLY time your company becomes involved is when they are paying the claim.

That doesn't happen unless you want your insurance to handle it and have your deductible applied. Your agent did their job, exactly as they should.

Representative was rude and inaccurate, and attacked the victim

As a pedestrian, I was hit by a driver who is covered by State Farm Insurance so I had an phone interaction with them to sort out the claims, and it was a highly unpleasant experience. The claim representative threw out entirely inaccurate accusations, such as that I was 50% at fault for the accident because I "did not have right of way," despite the fact that Indiana law IC 9-21-17-7 states that I did. She then rudely told me "you can't just walk out into traffic, sorry" which was extremely inaccurate, unprofessional, and TRAUMATIZING for me as the victim. Horrible.

All pedestrians have the right of way, providing they are in the cross walk and/or walking on a green light, etc. Basically what it amounts to is that the pedestrian has to yield to the vehicles.

Andrea Ahw

Florida law gives pedestrians the right of way too, but if you walk in front of a car, YOU are at fault.

It is not rude to tell you what you do not want to hear.

State Farm Canceled my mother becuase I got a DUI

My mother had coverage from State Farm for over 20 years. I got a DUI and they canceled HER policy.

What does her coverage have to do with mine? What a lame insurance company. It is absolutely pathetic that they would cancel her. She has paid over $28,000 to this despicable company, yet they cancel her because of my mistake.

I am not on her policy! Shame on you all! This should be illegal if it is not already.

This is not an insurance company, this is a money sucking pig of a company. "State farm is there" until you need them.

Statefarm a major RIPOFF!

I had a house fire(Aug27,2011)(one that My Ex set on fire)State Farm Rep.Mr HUGO told me to go stay in a Hotel that they would pay for,or for me to stay with a friend,My Daughter and her Husband were Present when Mr.Hugo said this, the friend I was staying with also called Mr.Hugo to give the address,I would be at,it was agreed that he would be paid 35 dollars a day, until my house was habitable.Well,it took StateFarm almost a year to pay on my claim(for the House totaled and the contents of the house,Gone to fire and heavy smoke damage and what was stolen). Now they won't pay my friend what is due to him( I stayed with my friend for 463days),StateFarm says they never agreed to pay for my living expenses!Wasn't that Why I Got That Insurance for !??And after almost 30years of being with them they cancell the insurance 1 monthe before my house gets Paid off,I only had 3 claimes in almost 30 years!

*** White people

Why? In this litigious society we are now in does "STATE FARM" and "ALLSTATE" have every commerical showing the intelligent black and the dumb as a bag of hammers white? IO noticed that "ADT" uses only white people in thier commericals. And only white thieves or the (1) with a white and a black guy. Was the black guy showing the white how to break in or was the black guy being corrupted by the white guy? But to watch the insurance comms. It's always the black guy who is so intelligent. So??? Maybe SMART ole Dennis Haysbert can explain it to my dumb whtie ***. I understand today you cannot say anthing, (in the negitive), about the colored race. (Ergo, making me a racist which I'm not. You are a human or your not). I just get tired of seeing it. It's like those Mc Donalds comms. What race are they catoring too? Oh Yah I forgot. Love the one where it has the black guy moving back home, (The center of thr comm.) and a white girl, (always in a comms. too Black guy / white girl), asian girl and hispanic dude. Covered all the bases there. Only problem with it I have never seen that in my entire life.

"commerical" hmm...

"intellegence" hmm...

OMFG - How Ironic!

No punctuation, usage of numerical characters in a sentence, and all caps to go along with it.

Wow dude, chick, or whatever you are, get a frickin' life!

Really if you spend that much time looking at those commerical and noticing thing such as those means 2 out of there things you don't have a job and you definitely are NOT RACIST REALLY and one more things maybe if you watched less TV and more Read you spelling would be better they say lack of intellegence and education breeds racism and buddy your spelling prove some of that

I am a college educated professional with an advertising background and the point stated in this thread, regardless of spelling, is 100% spot on! Maybe you should open your eyes and view the world with an objective viewpoint rather than a victim / entitled viewpoint.

You need to get over yourself!

Racism is racism...no matter the color of people typecast based on the color of their skin.

it's reverse racism in commercial form. they should show intelligence on and off for either race.

STATE FARM=WORST COMPANY BY FAR

My old agent Michael Bader and his horrible staff Trish and Terry are by far the WORSE reps around! State Farm=THEFT!! State Farm has horrible customer service and they do not fix their messes in a timely manner OR at all. In March, I changed my name (I got married). At that time, I explained not to add my husband to the policy/exclude him as he has his own policy for our other vehicles and literally never drives this car. Well, they looked up his information and they added him anyway. At that time, they also asked if I wanted to "bundle" and get homeowner's insurance. I stated no several times because I already have a great policy elsewhere and I never gave them any information on sq footage etc. Well, they must have looked all that up and added homeowner's insurance as well without my consent. It took 3 months and SEVERAL calls to get them to cancel the homeowner policy that should have never been made in the first place! Thanks Terry for screwing up another thing. In order for my auto insurance policy not to cancel, I was forced to pay about $100 extra a month due to them adding my husband anyway despite my requests and exclusion indicating NOT to add him. I received a letter in April that he could not be insured. So note, he was NEVER insured by state farm. From April to June, I still had to pay the extra amount for an unknown reason in order to keep my insurance active because Trish from state farm kept calling telling me If I Didnt pay the full amt she was cancelling my policy. State Farm owes me a refund of $300 due to their mistakes and it is September and I still haven't received my refund. I still have no answers as to when I will get my refund and I constantly have to call to try and get a resolution. All I want is my money back that I should have never had to pay! They kept telling me I would get it, then they said it would be in the mail in the next couple days, then they said they already refunded it (which is not the slightest bit correct) then they said its in the mail and last they said I do not have a refund coming at all. I also had to have a window replaced. I had to call and set it up myself which was okay and I did. Well, the people they chose to fix it broke all the clips in my window and didn't replace it causing my window to crack and be replaced an additional 2 times. Finally, I called State Farm in hopes for them to correct this mess and get my clips, etc. replaced and they refused. I then requested State Farm use a different company on the last install and I set all that up myself and had the clips replaced and etc and had to get all the information for billing etc. Isn't that what I pay them extra for? State Farm does nothing correct but take your money out of your account the day it's due and more than they should. Otherwise nothing else is corrected and nothing else gets resolved unless you push and do it yourself. Even that will take 4 months and counting to get my money back that they now say I am not getting. I'm a very angry/displeased customer and would not recommend state farm to anyone in the world! Everything about state farm is HORRIBLE!

Got my car towed when broke down on the tollway 2 wks ago.

My bill was $158.00.

They only reimbursed me for $115.00.

Not happy about that much.
