My husband and I had our car stolen. Two days later it was returned with minimal damage but all of our personal items were stolen.
When we put in a claim through our homeowners policy, they refused to pay stating that because the vehicle had minimal damage we had stolen the vehicle ourselves. We are not being prosecuted by them through the state at a cost far more our claim was. We did not steal our own car.
The claims agent involved was convinced that we had stolen the car and after much harrassment, he said he would make sure we were prosecuted. We will not do a plea in abeyance because we did not do this.
