Car rear-ended by State Farm insured on August 1. Called, called, called called.

Six weeks later State Farm says we can put car in the shop. Car is still in the shop. Shop said rear bumper, right rear fender, and right rear door damaged in wreck. State Farm says only bumper damaged.

Shop says car unsafe to drive without rear door repaired. State Farm says they are not covering door or fender. Appraisor did not show up last week to look at car; hasn't shown up today. Lost work time waiting on these idiots not to do their jobs!

State Farm sucks! They refuse to let me talk to a supervisor when I asked.

Product or Service Mentioned: State Farm Insurance Claim.

Monetary Loss: $2000.

First, you don't have to miss work for an estimator to look at your vehicle.

You stated it was in the shop. The estimator goes to the shop and reviews the damage. It sounds like they already did and made a decision. If the vehicle has been broken down by the shop and additional damage has been uncovered (that couldn't be seen in the initial review) then the estimator looks at it a second time and determines if it is prior damage or related to the accident.

Either way, there's no reason for you to be there. Their decision won't be any different regardless if you're hovering over them or not. They'll do their job and once the estimator reports his findings to the adjuster, the adjuster will call you to discuss.
